TERMS OF SERVICE!

Please read this document thoroughly to avoid any misunderstandings. If you do not read the T.O.S. in its entirety, it is still your responsibility should you violate any agreements or rules in this T.O.S. More rules and terms will be added as we see fit as the group grows, so make sure to check back every so often!

MEMBERSHIP AND USER CONDUCT

User Behaviour

As a member of the Kanima community, you agree to:

• • Treat all members, including staff, artists, and guests, with respect, courtesy, and kindness at all times. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or any form of hate speech related to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics will not be tolerated.
  • Avoid engaging in or encouraging drama, gossip, slander, or conflicts that disrupt community harmony. Resolving issues should be done privately or with staff mediation.
  • Refrain from scamming, phishing, impersonation, or other deceptive practices aimed at exploiting or harming community members. This includes attempts to fraudulently acquire Kanima characters, art, currency, or privileges.
  • Follow all community rules, including those pertaining to multiple accounts. Creating secondary or alternate accounts without permission for abuse or manipulation is prohibited and may result in permanent bans.
  • Maintain a positive and constructive attitude when participating in discussions, collaborations, or events. Toxicity or purposeful disruption will be handled by staff.

Website & Species Content

Kanima and all affiliated websites, social media, and platforms are intended to be safe, inclusive, and family-friendly environments. Therefore:

• • No NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content, including sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult material, is allowed anywhere on Kanima platforms or associated spaces. This includes images, writing, roleplay, avatars, and profile content.
  • Mature themes such as violence, gore, or horror must be used sparingly and sensitively. Explicit gore or extreme body horror may be subject to moderation or removal.
  • Discussions or displays that could be considered triggering or disturbing should be appropriately labeled with content warnings to protect community members.
  • Users are encouraged to report any content they believe violates these rules to ensure swift moderation and community safety.

Age

Users of the website and Discord must be at least 16 years of age to participate.

If you are below the age of 16, we strongly encourage you not to interact with the website or Discord at all.

By creating an account on this website, you confirm that you are of the legal age in your local jurisdiction to view and access the content provided.

The Kanima community has a zero-tolerance policy regarding inappropriate interactions between adults and minors:

• • Adults bothering minors, or minors initiating inappropriate interactions with adults, are strictly prohibited.
  • Any single report of suspicious behavior between adults and minors may result in an instant ban pending investigation.
  • Inappropriate or suspicious communication will be promptly investigated, and users found violating this policy will be removed from the server and/or website immediately.

These measures are in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and comfortable environment for all community members.

Account and User Uploads

Users are limited to one official Kanima account unless explicitly authorized by staff for valid reasons. Multiple accounts used for exploiting site features, circumventing bans, or other dishonest purposes will be permanently banned.

Profile usernames, avatars, bios, and uploads must adhere to all community standards. Offensive, vulgar, hateful, or inappropriate content will be removed and may result in disciplinary action.

All artwork, writing, or content uploaded must be original or used with explicit permission from the creator, with proper credit given where required. Plagiarism, unauthorized tracing, or theft of content is strictly forbidden.

Sharing links or external content on Kanima profiles or forums must comply with site rules and be safe for all ages. Suspicious or harmful links will be removed and reported.

Use of AI-generated artwork or writing for official submissions, species content, or contests is prohibited to protect artistic integrity.

Warnings, Strikes, and Bans

Kanima employs a tiered system to maintain community standards:

• • Warnings are issued for minor infractions, providing users with an opportunity to correct behavior.
  • Strikes are issued for repeated or moderate offenses. Accumulating multiple strikes may lead to temporary suspension or restrictions.
  • Bans may be temporary or permanent and are reserved for severe violations or repeated offenses despite warnings.

Immediate bans without warnings may be issued for egregious behavior, including but not limited to:

Pedophilia, zoophilia, or promotion of illegal content.

Severe racism, hate speech, or threats of violence.

Scamming, harassment, or impersonation of staff members.

Multiple account abuse or circumventing previous bans.

Ban appeals may be considered through official channels, but bans related to criminal or extreme behavior are generally final.

ART

Kanima art created by official artists, guests, or community members is protected intellectual property. Unauthorized use, tracing, or commercial exploitation is prohibited.

Editing or altering official art without explicit permission is not allowed. This includes cropping, recoloring, or remixing unless authorized by the original artist.

Kanima-themed merchandise or products require prior written consent from species owners and original artists. Unauthorized sales or profit-making activities may result in legal action or bans.

Community members are encouraged to support and credit artists properly to foster a respectful creative environment.

CHARACTER AND OWNERSHIP TERMS

Species Specific

Kanima is a closed species with specific guidelines regarding character creation and ownership:

• • Only species owners, approved guest artists, or users with a valid MYO (Make Your Own) slot may create official Kanima characters.
  • Creating unofficial or fan Kanima-inspired characters is permitted for personal use but may not be sold or represented as part of the official species.
  • Official Kanima characters must comply with species lore, anatomy, and design rules outlined by staff.

Unauthorized creation, sale, or promotion of Kanima characters may result in character voiding or bans.

Ownership

Character owners retain personal rights to their Kanima characters but do not own the species or any official Kanima IP.

Commercial use of Kanima characters, including commissions, merchandising, or publications, requires approval from species owners and original artists.

Ownership transfers, sales, or trades must be conducted transparently through official platforms or approved channels to avoid scams.

Co-ownership of characters is discouraged and not officially supported; private agreements are the responsibility of involved parties.

Design and Redesigns

Redesigns or modifications to existing Kanima characters require staff approval and may be subject to rules or fees.

Changes that alter core species features or character identity must be justified and authorized to preserve lore consistency.

Designs that infringe on copyrighted properties or intellectual property may be disallowed or restricted.

Voiding

Character voiding is the permanent removal of a Kanima character from official records and status.

Voiding is irreversible and results in loss of all privileges related to the character, including site features and resale value.

Requests for voiding must be submitted through official channels and will be processed in due time.

SALES AND TRADES

General Rules

All official Kanima character sales and MYO slot distributions are conducted exclusively by species owners or designated staff.

Unauthorized sales, trades, or solicitations may result in bans and voiding of involved characters.

Refunds, chargebacks, or disputes must be handled promptly and professionally. Failure to do so risks penalties.

Pricing, currency, and sales events are announced by species owners and must be respected by all members.

Harassment of staff or members over sales policies, prices, or availability will not be tolerated.

Auction Rules

Auction bidding must be made in good faith; false bidding or bid manipulation is prohibited.

Auction currency and rules will be clearly communicated prior to each event.

Attempts to block or sabotage other bidders are forbidden and punishable by removal from auctions.

Custom Rules

Some sales, trades, or commissions may have specific custom rules set by the species owners or guest artists.

Users must read and agree to these additional rules before participating.

Moderators reserve the right to refuse sales or participation at their discretion to protect community interests.

Resale Rules

Kanima characters may not be resold for a price exceeding their official site value unless explicitly permitted by species owners.

Resale appraisals can be requested to verify fair market value.

MYO slots may be traded or gifted but must not be resold for profit.

Misrepresentation or inflation of resale value is grounds for penalties including bans or voiding.

TERM MEANINGS

• Kanima: The official closed species with unique lore, biology, and artistic style owned and managed by the Kanima group.
• MYO (Make Your Own): A purchasable or gifted slot allowing users to create a custom Kanima character within species guidelines.
• Closed Species: A species with restricted creation rights controlled by owners to preserve quality and lore consistency.
• Guest Artist (GA): An approved artist authorized to create official Kanima characters or content.
• NFT (Not For Trade): Label indicating a character is not available for sale or trade currently.
• Cooldown: A mandatory waiting period after character acquisition or transfer before further transactions are allowed.
• FTO (First Time Owner): A user who has never previously owned a Kanima character or MYO slot.
• UFS (Up For Sale), UFT (Up For Trade), EO (Entertaining Offers): Status labels indicating a character's availability for sale, trade, or offers.
